Spiral Wound Gaskets
Spiral wound gaskets are used in high pressure and high temperature applications. ERIKS has a wide range of designs and materials. In addition, we can produce specially made rings very quickly in our own production facility.
Section | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
R | Basic type for tongue and grove or male and female or grooved to flat face flanges. Inner and outer diameters are reinforced with several plies of metal without filler to give more stability and better compression | |
C/O Spiralwound Style CO guidering UK (540kB) | Style R equipped with an external metal ring which centres the gasket between the bolts and acts as compression stop. Prevents the gasket against blow-out. | |
C/I Spiralwound Style CI UK (714kB) | Style C/O equipped with an internal ring for additional compression stop. Provides heat and corrosion barrier. Prevents flange erosion in steam applications. Prevents also "buckling" (possibility for the spiral to spring into the pipe). Allways advised with PTFE as filler. | |
RIR | Style R equipped with an internal metal ring which acts as a compression stop and fills the space between flange bore and inside diameter of gasket. Suitable for male and female pipe flanges. | |
HX-R | Style R equipped with a "nose" of smaller spiral wound strip at the external diameter to prevent damage when the gap between male and female flange is to big. Particularly present in large dimensions (Heat exchangers with fixed tube plate) | |
HX-RIR | Same as HX-R but equipped with an internal metal ring. Was primary designed for TEMA male and female Heat exchangers. | |
CG-LS | The LS spiral wound gaskets are specially designed so that compression and sealing requirements are achieved under very low seating stress. The LS gaskets are intended to use in low pressure flanges where low bolting levels are present like for stainless steel bolts. | |
